Frank Miller's Martha Washington
You've read Frank Miller's Batman Dark Knight, Sin City and 300, but are you familiar with his Martha Washington series?
With Dave Gibbons, of Watchman fame, Frank Miller has created a strong, female character in Martha. Growing up in poverty led her to fight for the underpriveleged and abused. In Give Me Liberty, she joins up with the PAX Peace Force where she performs heroic feats to save the rainforest. Then Martha Goes to War to reunite a fractured United States, and is injured in the meantime.
A deluxe slipcased & hardcovered edition has recently been released compiling all the Martha Washington issues. Less known than his other works, Martha Washington is certainly just as worthy as all of Frank Miller's other works.
